Always Plotting Something…

Looking back on Genuary 2025

I completed 23 of 31 prompts this year, which I'm pretty happy with. Moving away from the aim of doing one a day, or at least in the right order certainly helped. However, towards the end I definitely did run out of steam and ideas a bit, and found myself re-using concepts rather than coming up with anything novel. As a wrap up I wanted to regenerate and plot my favourites, to tidy up the code and prove I still could. As I've not always used consistent colours this came out as a 21-layer file, and of course I messed up the alignment on one of them! Making this grid was fun but I think I'll go back to plotting a single motif at a time.

In order: 1, 2, 3, 5, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, 24, 25, 29 -- which one was your favourite? I think there are a few I might want to develop further, though I did say that last year...

Genuary was a month of creative prompts to encourage experimentation with generative art created with code (and, for me, drawing robots).
